This is an antique Japanese Kago basket from the early Showa era c 1930's. Used in Ikebana flower arranging. Very intricately made with woven split bamboo.
It has been in storage for many decades and with the exception of a few signs of wear and loose strands of bamboo on the handle it remains in good condition.
