This is an antique Chinese storage basket intricately woven in a beautiful pattern with tsutsu dake (aged bamboo). Very likely originally used for carrying and store food item. It weighs over 6 pounds.
It has been in storage or carefully displayed for much of the past century and with exception to some minor signs of wear, this basket remains in good condition. It measures about 24" diameter (56 cm) by 18" tall (38 cm).
